This little grave, found in the Fairfield, Utah Cemetery, is heart-wrenching. And all it does is raise questions:
- Who is Baby Thomas?
- When was he buried here?
- Was the cement placed later?
- Are his parents buried nearby?
The mother in me needs the story! But for now, the questions are the story...

JoLyn-the picture makes me want to know the story-behind Baby Thomas-all the details of the folks who loved and lost him. I bet the concrete was added later. Neat that Thomas found out so much info regarding "Thomas" names.
Hello, The great-grandmother of "Baby Thomas", Rebecca Ann Hodge Thomas, is a sister of my great-great-grandfaher, Lyman Hodge. Rebecca, who always went by the name of Ann, married William B. Thomas, whose family immigrated from Wales. William and his wife had six children. Their fourth child, Maxwell Cluss Thomas, married Thelda Mae Turner in 1932. Baby Thomas would have been their first daughter. She was a stillborn child. Her death certificate shows "Stillborn Thomas", born and died 15 August 1933. She was buried in the Fairfield Cemetery the next day. Maxwell and Thelda went on to have two more children, both boys- Francis Barclay Thomas (1934 - 2007) and Shirlaw C. Thomas (1937 - 2009). The parents later divorced and Maxwell married two more times, and Thelma married one more time.
